No. The action, fights, violence are fake. The blood is usually real, but they use small hidden razors to make safe cuts that bleed for a while. Even the boobs of the women wrestlers are fake (most of them) Though Stacy Keibler's are real.

Yes, and no.

Yes, they DO get hurt and really injured and their careers are cut short in many cases. The action is choreographed in a violent dance of massive, sweaty bodies engaged in various and sundry wrestling holds and moves. The wrestling in itself IS real, but is purposely staged to protect and extend the wrestlers' bodies and careers for as long as possble. The blood is real from either staged or accidental injuries. Some of the fights and rivalries are real.

Perhaps the earliest record of people and the media calling pro wrestling fake dates back to 1908 with the first Frank Gotch vs. George Hackenschmidt match because one of them refused to "Take a lose." ...and it continues to today.

Isn't it funny that the record TV ratings, the revenue, the drugs, the sex scandals, the premature wrestler deaths and all the other important issues that surround this business are overlooked, but people only concentrate on whether Pro wrestling is real or fake?.

Some of it is actually real that you see. But for the most part it is a show. Lots of it is put on. The reason for calling it entertainment. Some of these guy's ride from one show to the next with each other, and you see them in the ring battling it out. And when it is over, they pile into the car and head out to the next show. But, for the price, you won't find a better live performance anywhere. They do a terrific job.
