My friend is in the middle of reading a book about a famous (or maybe not so famous) kidnapping/murder/suicide in the 1960's. It was about a teenage boy named Egbert and he was really intelligent and obsessed w/ dungeons and dragons. He was telling me about the book and I wanted to know more about the case. Does anyone know what his full name is because I cant find any info on him. Thanks!

Fascinating, as D & D didn't really come out until 1974.

There was a made for TV movie in the early 1980s I believe, which sounds familiar. I think it starred Tom Hanks. But again, if it's a 1960s case, it wouldn't be Dungeons and Dragons as it didn't really take off as a cult phenomenon until the late 1970s.

Well it cant be considered as a kidnapping case but as a missing persons case because she left her in thecare of an adult she now knows nothing of her where abouts she would have to file something with a local police station so they can send out an amber alert in the area this is only if she still has no contact with the child or the adlut she left in her care

Don't think dungeons and dragons was even around in the sixties...I suspect you're thinking of that case from the early eighties.

I remember the case. Somebody kidnapped Marge Williams and begged her family to take her back at no charge and the family told them to keep her.
