Not way off, but worth following up on. Presently, physicians are calling any systolic (top number) number greater than 130 hypertension, and treating it. But if this is "white coat syndrome" (blood pressure elevation only in the presence of a doctor, because of anxiety) it may not require treatment.

It might be useful to get a BP cuff and learn to use it. Keep an eye on your BP and write it Down, then when you see the doctor next you can give him some actual facts. Take the blood pressure on rising and if you feel different, like heart pounding. Don't use those automatic cuffs you find in department stores. They are never calibrated and therefore useless.

Don't ignore the fact that your BP is high for age and shape. This is a treatable condition, and to ignore it could have grave consequences.

Take care of yourself.

I might suggest to get yourself to your family Doctor. Don't play around with things concerning your health. My brother is in excellent physical shape, plays ice hockey and eats well... he went to the doctor for a physical and his blood pressure was in the 200s !!! The doctor wanted to put him in the hospital, immediately! High blood pressure over taxes the body's organs like kidneys and can shut them down , can cause a stroke in the brain or lead to a heart attack. If you have a problem with blood pressure, go on medication to reduce the pressure to a normalized level and keep taking your medication until your Doctor tells you that you no longer require it. Better safe than sorry!!!

Blood pressure is funny stuff and varies from person to person, hour to hour. These days medicos seem to want it in the 120/80 range, but your's sounds like it's probably okay.

Do you get any cardio exercise? Sometimes your heart can be out of shape even if your body doesn't look like it. Also, if you have a family history of hypertension, it could be genetic, not necessarily anything you've done.

It is a little high, it could be because of caffiene so try to stay away from the for awhile, it could also be due to stress, have you been under an abnormal amount of stress lately, because that could definitely cause it.
