...I'm in a store going through a checkout stand, and as my order is being totalled, the checker (who's a lady) says to someone, "There's a guy I want you to meet." How should I interpret this?

OK, you said she said that to someone else so who do you know it's about you? You didn't say she said it to you so. And if it was directed at you it depends on what type a social relationship the two of you have whenever you come into to the store. Maybe she wants to get your opinion of him. Or where you in a situation where you may have asked a question or a referral for? Just ask her what she meant by her statement and then just do what you feel is best.
