We just fell out of touch... I was in her wedding in 2004, but due to my health, I haven't been able to go out and do things with them like I used to. She also had a baby a year ago, so she's been busy too. I ran into her at the grocery store Thursday and she told me to stop by for their party Saturday night, if I could.
I stopped by and shortly after I got there (about 5 min) her and her husband decide to take off on a 4-wheeler ride. I talk to a few other people there then I leave because I felt awkward and out of place since I haven't been around much. It doesn't help matters much that I used to date her brother and he was there. That ended several years ago, so that wasn't the main reason for feeling uncomfortable.
My question is where do I go from here? Do I try to persue this friendship? Do I wait for them to make the next move, or do I call tomorrow and ask them what they were thinking? After all, they were the hosts, even though it was an informal outdoor party.

I stopped to see them, and they left their party for a joy ride. Their party, I guess they can do what they want, but I was hurt they left. I'm shy and didn't know many people there, so after 20 minutes or so of the hosts not being there... I second guessed whether I should have even stopped by in the first place, and left. Maybe I am too sensitive...

since she invited you and was the host of the party, she should have made you feel welcome, and put you at ease. if you two were really good friends and wish to re-establish the friendship, then yes persue it. I would not call them and ask them what they were thinking, I would just let it go, and not worry about it, they may have been drinking, and thought nothing about taking off at the time. just the next time they invite you to a party, politely decline the invitation, if you do not wish to attend.

Phone and lie. Phone and tell her you had a nice time at the party and hope to get together again soon. (that is, if you want to get the friendship back)
