What is the correct responce? I don't want to say "hope you get well" when thats not possible but I don't want to sound like "this is the final good bye"

You might just say that you will be thinking of them and hold them in your heart...

It should be more of an "I'm Thinking of You" card. You don't want to give them a "Get Well" card if the have a terminal illness. And you don't want to give them a "I'll Miss You When You're Gone" card either. Just let them know you are their friend and be there for them.

I would say thank you for all the good times we shared and hope that there will be many more. I will be praying for you to get out soon. I know the Good Lord will be with you and bring you back to me. Get well soon. We need to have faith that the Lord can preform miracles. He will if we all pray for them.God Be with him or her.

well, it depends on how you know the person. if it is a loved one, put something like: i hope that you get better and i want you to know that i love you and you have changed my life for the better. something like that will really hit the heart with them. put something that comes from the heart and not someones elses. and just because you know that they are going to pass, doesnt mean you still cant wish them that they get better.

no matter what the situation is---never give up hope-- people that are dying sometimes snap back and get back to normal health or decent health--
so give the person the get well soon card--it will show that you---and that is you!!! havent given up hope...

maybe try something like "You mean so much" try telling them how they have positively affected your life.
