The best thing to do is let the battery run fully out whenever you can and then start the recharge. I don't know why, but it's a well known fact that this will keep the best charge afterwards.

Same with laptop batteries. You don't have to do this everytime - just once in a while.

yeah actually when u charge ur ipod battery u only want to charge it untill the battery is full then use it untill it gets low but not dead then charge it again charge maybe 2 to 3 times a week

Daily if you use it heavily. They typically last 200-300 chargings for the older models I believe. If ever dies out, you can buy a more efficient new one here: http://www.ipodjuice.com/

I guess whenever it starts to run low... I wouldn't let it die completely though, as it then takes to long to charge and probably isn't good for it anyway...

Charge it and when it says "Charged",there ya go and,if you use it a lot,charge it everyday
