Both were thought to be bad teams before the season started and they both got out to fast starts and tailed off toward the end. And both the managers are named Jim (Leyland and Fergosi). I guess the 93 team was a little older though, but Pudge reminds me a lot of Darren Daulton.

I never thoght they were bad at the start of the season. They had a well balanced lineup and a starting rotation that combined veterans with very good young arms. Maybe I didn't see them in the World Series, but I was expecting them to win near 90 games and contending for the wild card spot.
