We are not interfering in their matter. We have helped them in past by providing our IPKF. And for our help what they have returned in gift is more than enough for us to bear. The assassination of Rajiv Gandhi has hindered our progress.

India has had a bitter experience dealing with the Tamil Problem. The Premedasa Government sought the help of Indian government and Rajiv Gandhi by the advice of J N Dixit sent IPKF.But Premedasa stabbed in the back. It armed to the teeth, the LTTE, while officially going for IPKF. The Indian force became just a buffer, which had orders to receive bullets only. Just look at the casuality statistics of that period. Thereafter LTTE assassinated both Rajiv Gandhi and Premedasa. The LTTE was charged with the crime and the perpetraters were duly punished. But some of them convicted included the likes of Prabhakaran, who was awarded capital punishment in absentee. Now the question is, LTTE is the only seperatist Tamil organisation, with which Sri Lanka is negotiating, whose chief is held of the gravest crime on the land of India. How can India initiate the talks with LTTE as one of the partners? The second question is, Whether there is a consensus in the Srilankan Society about the involvement of Indian Government, yet again?? India will not be a party to negotiations unless and until it is duly invited, and unless and until the modalities of talks are properly chalked out.

NO...i don't think india should interfere in Sri Lankan business...First of all...Sri lankan government stabbed us in the back once when india sent the IPKF. Secondly...there will be great opposition inside india...if they do interfere. So...I say...let them fight it out or talk it out.

No...India should not become another America, to poke its nose in other countries affairs.

If we interfere, then we will be having no moral rights to counter Pak, which is interfering in Kashmir affair.

Can they do so in an impartial way? If not, then no.

Can they get an alliance of Asian Nations, or even the UN to go in and try to arrange a cease fire? Worth a try.
