when you practice, try only playing with your left hand for about an hour.

I have been playing the drums for about 8 years and I had that problem too. First start out doing twice as many times with your left hand then your right. And then after a while try practicing using mostly your left hand over you right. As with all things it takes time but the result is always worth it.
