It's depends on where you would work. Iowa has a lot of nursing homes that will send you to the CNA classes. Check with them first in person (personal touch matters) and fill out an application if they will send you @ no cost to you. Then it is just the matter of paying & passing your certification.

Some community colleges offer courses to become a CNA that don't cost an arm and a leg like private schools. I took a CNA class years ago through the local adult education program.

Look online, there's some package that they'll send you and you study it and then you go take the test for about $70. I don't know the exact site but google it.
