With all due respect to "dodge man" the first factory installed V-8 in a Chevy ll was 1964. I don't doubt you owned a V-8 powered 1963....dealer or owner installed however.

i own a repair shop, and the first year of it was 1963, it came with a 283 4 barrel carburetor and you had a choice of a two speed automatic or a factory installed 4 speed ,i bought one that was all original in in 1970 it was still un changed ,and drove it for a few years,it was pretty nice for its time, but the sub frame would buckle up if you raced it,you could actually feel the floor board move a little it was a fast car but had weak design on the frame system on it,other than that they were nice, good luck i hope this help,s.

1963. From the factory it had a 6, V8 wasn't available in 63. Many V8's were dealer installed before delivery or they were changed to V8 over the years.
