Remember, dear, I am not a doctor. But it can be many things,it could be that she needs a hysterectomy, because of her age something inside started bleeding and usually if they take her ovaries and all those things out she will be OK. The bleeding will stop. I am sure that is nothing for you to worry too much about at this point. Just pray that they can find out soon what it is. Keep her company, because whenever you are in a hospital setting you feel alone. You are a good granddaughter to worry about your grandma so, but just relax and give time to the doctors to find out what it is. Just keep grandma happy till you all find out ..OK? God bless you both.

Could be many things... Uterine cancer, uterine prolapse, etc. But it could be cancer. Has she had any loss of weight recently, feeling more lethargic than usual? Look up on uterine cancer and read up about it.
But just pray and be patient till the doctors do tests and diagnose whats wrong with her. She'll be home soon don't worry. :)

It sounds like an ulcer or maybe some form of cancer. My grandmother had the same problem years back before she died. We found out that she had an ulcer, which is a hole usually found in the stomach area, and liver cancer. But, from what I just read, it sounds like an ulcer. If not, then it's probably liver cancer, which I'm hoping it's not for your sake. That's what my grandmother died of.

Endometrial cancer is the fourth most common cancer in women, accounting for approximately 6,000 deaths per year in the United States. It is more common in women who are older, white, affluent, obese and of low parity. Hypertension and diabetes mellitus are also predisposing factors. Because any condition that increases exposure to unopposed estrogen increases the risk of endometrial cancer, tamoxifen therapy, estrogen replacement therapy without progestin and the presence of estrogen-secreting tumors are all risk factors. Smoking and the use of oral contraceptives appear to decrease the risk. Women with an increased risk and those with postmenopausal bleeding should be screened for endometrial cancer.

It is probably more common than you think. Sometimes things happen with the uterus when women get older. She will probably have to have a hysterectomy (the doctor's will take her uterus out) and then she'll be fine. Good luck!
