Well i am celebrating my bday by myself & my pet cat...thing is i dont feel anything, i used to, not anymore...tried calling up this special someone back home but she doesnt answer. I feel heat inside my head, i dunno I feel like i am gonna explode, maybe its just anger. The problem is that I have nobody to cheer me up!!! AH

I have friends...distant friends, no close friends though so...yeah they can't help.

I know whats already best for me, but sometimes I am just uncontrollable, I need protection from my own self or something....This is most likely depression.
I'm caught in the endless cirecle. The circle of lonliness.

advice pls.

I know what you're going through, been there before and hated it. But you have to realize that you are the only person who can do anything about it. Don't blame yourself, that does nothing at all to help. You already know you're in a place you don't want to be, try to actively change your thinking and what you do. The absolute hardest thing is to get out of your routine, even though you know it no good for you. I've moved to different cities many times for work and always found it hard to meet new people my age with my interests. Try to distract yourself during tough periods like this, TV always works for me if I just want to stay in. I work out and play lots of team sports too, which helps tremondously in meeting people. Try joining some local clubs, volunteer organizations, sports teams, do whatever that interests you but the requirement is you have to get out and meet at least one new person a day, or maybe 1 a week if you want to start off slow. You don't even need to try to make friends, just start interacting with people as a first step and if you share common interests it'll happen naturally. Get a 2nd or 3rd job if you have to just to stay busy so you don't get bored out your mind. The workplace is a good place to meet people too, nothing wrong with suggesting to coworkers about meeting up for a movie, drinks, dinner, comedy club, etc.

Hope this helps.

I think you're right, it does sound like depression. You sound lonely, and that's hard because when you're depressed it's hard to make new friends. Be nice to yourself, and try not to frighten yourself or threaten yourself with calling yourself uncontrollable or in an endless circle. You will feel good again you know, and this especially sad mood is because you're alone on your birthday. Tomorrow this birthday will be over and you can make some decisions about what you want to do about your life. Here are some ideas: find a place to meet people (a church, a class, a club, a meeting); seek a therapist to talk to; consider antidepressant therapy; have a weekly massage; join a gym and try to work this out physically. Best wishes to you, I've been there, and it's no fun. You're a unique and interesting person, and you'll have to find unique and interesting solutions to your moods.

Sorry to hear about your depression. I have never suffered from it, but I have close people to me who do. I know what kind of hell it is. I have seen it firsthand. I know it looks bleak to you but there is a way out of it. First, don't be afraid to ask for help. You are doing that by at least voicing it here. Now you need to talk to someone who is able to help you out of the hole. Please, call your local mental health agency. They can put you on the track to wellness. It will take some work and willingness on your part to get better. Even though you may not be able to see it now, there is light at the end of the tunnel. There really are people who care. Reach out to them.

have you tried to get out and do things that are involved with others like community work or something? maybe you should get involved with jobs or volunteer things that directly associate with people and their own feelings. try charity groups or working with others. maybe you will find that by helping others you realize that your problems are not always so bleak. in order to have a friend you have to be a friend.

you are not going crazy. everybody get lonely from time to time. it is how you deal with it. find someone to talk to. everyone can hear but everyone can't listen. when i feel that way I find something constructive to occupy my time. i am going to write a book. i have set some goals for myself that i would like to accomplish. so when I have a free moment i jump to my next project. if you can not find a good listener find a support group.

Hi,
Happy Birthday
I have been depressed before and have bad anxiety problems which I take medicine for now...First you need to take care of you anxiety/depression issues you seem to have..Then try and meet friends in work or other places you go to that have things incommon with you...Usually once you meet friends that are alike you and get used to talking to them you wont be shy around them. haha.. Caffeine in soda or energy drinks make me hyper and less quiet
