I have the sound max 4xl software for my soundcard. I hooked up a y cable to it so i can play it on my stereo but only comes out of one speaker. Theres nothing wrong with the speaker or stereo either. I also tried using headphones and again only one speaker plays.Does anyone know what i can do to to enable both speakers to play?

I also uninstalled/reinstalled twice and tested it on another computer and both speakers play.

Please unistall and reinstall your Soundmax drivers.
It looks like you haven't installed it properly.

Just a thought....did you check the sound card software to see if the "Balance" control is in the middle of the setting so that both speakers are equal, or is it slid full in either direction. That'd cause the sound to come from only one speaker.

My Computer>control panel>sounds and audio devices
Under speaker settings click Advanced.
Set the speaker so that your speakers both start working.
The case is most likely that your Y cable doesn't work or one of your speakers is broken.

you need to reset drivers for that card .. may be its not setup properly .. just delete drivers and reload again
