Hi there! Ok, here you go:

1. The best time to visit Disneyland (prior to Nov 15th) is now. Anytime between now (excluding Halloween, which can be busy) and Nov. 12th are great times to go. Just avoid weekends like the plague.

2. California Adventure is a great park and is a lot of fun! It is home to Tower of Terror, California Screamin' Soarin' Over California, The Aladdin Stage show, It's Tough to Be a Bug 3D show and much more! If you'd like to save $, just get a one day park hopper pass and see both in one day.

3. You'll love everything according to your preferences. But here you go:

Disneyland:
Space Mountain
Splash Mountain
Thunder Mountain
Pirates
Haunted Mansion
Snow White's Scary Adventure
It's a Small World
Country Bear Jamboree

California Adventure:
California Screamin'
Tower of Terror
Soarin' Over California
It's Tough to be a Bug 3D show
Aladdin live stage show (highly recommended)
Animation area

Best time would be a weekday Tues-Thurs before 5pm (when the locals get off work). You will basically walk on all the rides on those days with no lones. If you are really into the characters, do one of the breakfasts or lunches. Check out the Disney website for all available and to pick the one that sounds the best for you. We did the Minnie & Friends breakfast and the Princess lunch. I hear there is a Goofy lunch that is really good and I'm pretty sure there is a Buzz Lightyear one now too. Don't miss the Muppets 3-D show, excellent. The Bugs Life show is nice too. The building next to the Playhouse Disney show is full of great stuff too, especially the interactive visit with the turtle from Nemo show. Soarin Over Cali is excellent. I really like California Adventure and all the things above are in there.

1. Sundays are not too busy, but weekdays are best, as long as the schools don't have holidays.
2. If you are only going for 1 day, you won't have time to do both parks thoroughly.
3. I agree that California Screamin is an awesome roller coaster (at CA Adventure). Characters are everywhere.
Rollers coasters at the Land- Thunder Mountain, Matterhorn (but this may be closed for renovations- check the disneyland.com website), definately SPACE MOUNTAIN. others kind of like roller coasters- Indiana Jones, Star Tours.
Have fun!
Again, check their website- you can pick a day and see what shows are playing and maybe what rides are closed for that day.

1) Go during the week. No one is there.

2) Yes. It's worth the extra park hopper price.

3) Tower of Terror (sick, sick, sick)Definite must ride

Sourin' over California -very cool and it feels like you are really hovering

Star Tours is pretty cool, but a bit dated. Worth checking out.
The Matterhorn-a classic and not bad compared to today's roller coaster standards.

Space Mountain-Has been renovated and it much more exciting than the old version. Fast and great visuals. Very cool.

Honey I Shrunk the Audience-Campy yet fun

Splash Mountain-The end makes up for the kiddy robotics.

I found that the week school starts is the best for short lines. Tuesday through Thursday are good because there are less people there. Get park maps http://disneyland.disney.go.com/disneyland/en_US/home/home?name=HomePage&bhcp=1
ahead of time and plan as much as you can handle. Use the fast trac system wisely. You can be a kid as long as you like. Have a good time! Tommy Pruett

Okay, California Adventure is a necessary trip, I was changed when I left there, for the good of course. I'd say California Screamin' is the best rollercoaster they have. Go to a light show, and don't go when it is said to be raining. That is no fun.

if you want all the disney stuff, check out disney WORLD in Orlando, please consider if you have not already booked disneyland. Disney world has 4 parks with tons of shows, roller costers, everything you need! Plus orlando offers Universal Studios (2 parks)!!
Either park, in november, should be dead. attendance is usually very low this time of year..
My advice, get your money worth and go to DisneyWorld! I go there twice a year, and its always great
