be a hard life-style to come home after a day(night) of fighting crime and just return to a normal life! Marriage takes alot of work to be successful!
Plus if you marry off the heroes-then what happens next=KIDS!
they become perfect targets and it soo hard tonot have them grow up--which also means aging the hero themselves. So better to be carefree and single!

Have been single for thirty years. It is difficult on the wallet - shared income and a shared life is much easier for comfort. It is difficult when sick and it takes several years to learn to spend time at hobbies or chores that will keep quality of life on the incline. If the first few tries at relationships don't work it might be a single future for you, because the more you try, the worse the prospects get. Finally my last few tries were people who had double lives and were dangerous-ish to dangerous. The more times you try does not tend to improve your insight into whether the person is sincere or just using you, so you are better off working at friends, health and enjoyment. With this you can afford trips and life can be exciting and fun. If you are single the #1 most important thing you can ever do is KEEP YOUR JOB. Do not squander your money, but keeping your job as long as possible is BIGTIME. You will have enough to jump in your friend's car and drive to the mountains on a ski trip at Christmas, or down south at spring break...buy a sailboat, be a nature photographer, stuff you can be even more spontaneous with than in a relationship and you will have a good life. Write a book about it and your life will have meaning, too. Best of luck with staying happy.

I've always seen Superheroes as metaphors for our real life heroes, such as soldiers, Law enforcement Etc. Much like with the real ones it would make sense that the fictioanl heroes have issues with relationships, unless their signifigant other is also in their line of work. they have to see and do things that normal people can't understand and it creates a communication gap.
look at the TV show L&O:SVU, and character Stabler he tried the wife and kid thing, but his job changed him, had he taken a desk job he could have controlled his issues, but seeing what he saw and not being able to share that with his wife creted too much of a burden on their relationship.
Superman has been married to Lois in the comics since 1993 if i recall. it has only been in 2004-5 that I saw any hints at a chink in their relationship. and that touched on his dual ID about how Lois was really only in love with Superman and that she had to take Clark as part of the deal, taking for granted that being Superman was Invincible. There was one comic where Lois had been embedded in an"Iraq type" war and while she was away Superman got sniped by a K-bullet(i forget). Lana came to Metropolis to Nurse him through the wound, and when Lois' returned home she found some of Lana's clothes and got royally mad at Clark. She and Lana had a huge fight over him. I also remember reading in a magazine how they were going to give Superman more human problems, as lets face it in a less technological world, w/o his moral compass he could have been a god.
as for Batman, getting some strange would seriously change him, that and while he may not alway have the suit, mentally he is always Batman.

Reed and Sue from the Fantastic Four are married with two kids, Franklin and Valeria, but with Civil War, who knows how that's gonna turn out. Peter Parker married Mary Jane in the comics, and in X-Men, Scott and Jean got married, but then she died, but who knows, she's known for coming back from the dead. Who else...Scarlett Witch and Vision, but she went psycho and he's dead, I think. Quicksilver and Crystal, and they have a daughter, Luna, but their marriage is shaky, or maybe they divorced, I dunno. Blackbolt and Medusa of the Inhumans are married, and they have a son. Janet Van Dyne and Hank Pym of the Avengers, but he beat her and she divoreced him, so scratch that. So there are a lot of heroes who have married, some have made it, others haven't. I don't know why they do it. I guess it just makes for an interesting plot line, and when it grows old, they split them up somehow. I know, it frustrates me to death sometimes. And Black Widow was married like three times, but all her husbands died, thus the name Black Widow. For her to have a husband would be kinda contradicting to her name.

Well, Superman did get maried to lois Lane after all, batman has a son, bu the didn't get married. Batman has a personal vendetta that takes all his time. If he wasn't batman, i think that he would be settled down. (Power Man) Luke Cage, is Married, Prof. X was married. they all have been married before but with their extra activities, they cant hold a relationship and a family at the same time.

Two points:
1. Superman and Lois Lane are happily married
2. It supposedly takes away from the character. To this day, there are many who dislike the Peter/MJ romance over at Marvel. Even Stan Lee has said she was merely created to be a foil for Gwen Stacy.

Being a superhero is a very demanding lifestyle. There is very little time for full blown relationships. That doesn't mean that we do not love. Police and Military also have a hard time keeping relationships going. We have to give all of ourselves to saving other people.

They should never have attachments because they would become weak with them so the best thing is for their attachments to be outof their situations
