Believe it or not. In Brooklyn NY there was a JR High School call BERRIMAN.

It went from kindergarten to 9th grade.

My class of 1960 and the class of 61 have multiple reunions every year. We were recently on TV at one of our reunions. They asked the same question.

There was a play in 1958, we did OKLAHOMA.
Everybody sang the songs.

We had fond memories and good friends. Most of us contact each other daily via email.

For me, neither.

My best friend is someone I met in the 3rd grade; we've been best friends for 35 years! My other close friends are people I met in my 30s at work.

The reason? Hmmm... well when I went to college it was as an adult (several years after high school), and I was working full time too, so I didn't have time for socializing at college. I was friendly with people in my classes, but it didn't extend beyond that.

In high school, I was somewhat of a shy nerdy outcast, so I didn't have a lot of friends. I was friends for a long time with someone from high school, but then we drifted away; our lives just took separate paths and we no longer had as much in common with each other as we once did.

High school, and even more than that, grad school friends. I'm only still in touch with a couple of people from college, because that was a tough time for me. It took me a few tries to get through college, and my behavior at the time was not terribly representative of what it has been for the rest of my life.

I say i am more in tune with my college friends. I am in touch with some of my HS friends but not all.

I think it is because of the time spent with different people. You are not with most of your HS friend in uni because they are most likely in another corner of the world. so the only thing that you can do is email them or contact them via sms or something. it's not a strong way of meeting up but it's not as effective as working with others on a daily basis.

When you do meet up with your HS friends, you feel that you have a wedge somewhere because of many factors. no matter how much you talk to each other on the internet, it's not the same if you talk with your college buddy.

the rationale of why this occurs ,may be based on how much time you spend time working with each other than messenger chatting. if you meet up with people often, then there is no problem.

I'm more closer to my college friends because I like them more than the people I went to college with. For one they are at the same maturity level as me and we share the same views. It's nice to have intelligent conversations once in a while, instead of hearing about so and so breaking up at lunch time.

Friends from college (graduate school) and later. Our interests change, as do our responsibilities over time.

High school.....because everyone is always in one building together.....eating luch, etc. In college, everyone doesnt have the same routine and a lot of people are off-campus.

college, but I'm really closest to the friends I've made through work -- probably because I've been pretty dedicated to my work and not so much to school
