I would strongly recommend against buying a diamond ring from walmart. Please do a little bit of research on the characteristics of a diamond and associated jewelry. Cut is the most important "C", Color, Clarity, Carat. This is an important investment of a potentially significant amount of money. Treat it like buying a car or some other big ticket purchase and do some research. www.pricescope.com

I would not buy a diamond from Walmart! Think about it -- the high quality diamonds are going to go the bona fide jewelry stores out there. Walmart is only gonna get the dregs of the pick, after the real jewelry stores have snatched up all the good diamonds.

It is good if you are just buying it for jewelery and trying to save $$ but you put the question under investing . . . diamond rings loose about 50% of their resale value once they leave the store so as an investment they suck.

If you are fussy, don't do it. If it is just a matter of buying something pretty for love'sake and you don't care if it isn't quality, by all means do it. When it comes to diamonds there is a lot to learn about them and trust me, you do get what you pay for.

All diamonds must be rated by the same chart. Buy the diamond, take it out and have it appraised if not appraised at what you bought it for return it!
