Okay... i've worked with ferrets, but what i would like to know, is if they "like" getting a bath... or does it end up being a 'chore' ? lol... just curious, i know that if you start them out 'young', they should 'get used to it'.

First off......David S: ferrets are NOT rodents, and since when do rodents enjoy baths? Ferrets are carnivores.
That said, I have to agree with a previous poster. It all depends on the ferret, it's personality and how it was handled in the past.
If the person giving the first few baths to the ferret made it into a chore or was stressed and panicky the whole time, chances are the ferret isn't going to like it much. However, if it was made into a game and everyone had fun doing it, they might just get to like it. They are like kids that way, I guess. Some like it, some love it and others will never get used to the idea. I have four ferrets now and they all tolerate it at least, two of them actually seem to like it, but they all love the toweling off part. I make a huge mountain out of towels on my bathroom floor (always check under cabinets for open spaces. That's where the fert could get under the cabinet and into the walls if there is any open areas around pipes!! I closed mine off with large thick chunks of Styrofoam.)
After the rinse cycle I throw each one of my fuzzies on the towel mountain and they start diving around in it as if they were wound up. They just go crazy.

I had 2 ferrets, a male and a female. The male loved getting a bath. He would sit in the sink under the running water and squeak and holler when I took him out of the sink. The female on the other hand, absolutely hated her baths. She would actually try to bite me when I got her wet. I think it just depends on your ferrets personality and, like you said, if they were started young or not.

had a friend who had ferrets.They were curious,playful and loved water. I didnt know if she bathed them like it was a chore (soaping rinsing etc), But she towed them dry like babes after.

Ferrets are rodents and most rodents are swimmers. So yes they like the water.

From my experience, they have not enjoyed it. But I guess you should start young, kind of like dogs I guess.
