Honestly it depends on the type. I dont go for the green skinned ones they like to put up around this time of year, but I do know some who are really very nice. Though I tend to lean more to calling them healers myself.

Of course they do. Anyone who follows Wicca and/or Witchcraft (they are different) is a Witch.

I'm one. My sister is one. I haven't met any others in my real life though but I have met several online, including ones I have come across here.

As far as the green witches associated with Halloween, those are believed by many to be a result of the violence during the witchhunts in Medieval Europe. The green skin was believed to be the bruises. The wart on the nose, the hunchback, the crippled fingers were results of the broken bones. Being able to fly is associated with astral projection. So the Halloween witch is real but you won't see anyone like that today other than someone dressed up on Halloween for the novelty of it.

Ha I love these questions -- of course they do! I am one -- and not all witches "follow the Wiccan religion". The person who said that should do some research -- witchcraft is actually it's own separate religion. And it also used to simply refer to people who practice magick which is why people can be 'Christian' Witches.

Blessings and Light!

Women were accused of witchery just because they had more knowedge and a better understanding of the natural healing abilities both herbs and plants brought to the human body and men did not understand this at the time.

Which led to many innocent people burnt on the stake.

Yup! Sure do! I also think that there are a lot of Lit'l ladies out their who like to think that they are one. I don't believe in the green skinned, wart on the nose, old hag bit. I also think their is a hell of a lot more to it than burning a few candles and saying a few chants ,dressing different and having weird hairstyles. If it isn't used for good and the betterment of our fellow human beings, I don't want any part of it, and neither do you. Peace2U

witches exist. I'm one as well as probably half your answerers here.

Oh and one more thing....one doesn't have to follow the wiccan religion to be a witch, just thought I'd set the record straight.....since I'm a morganite and not a wiccan....big FREAKIN' difference.

yea, they have been around for years, of course, It's kept in the closet , just as the catholics keep excorsim in the closet. But yes, It is a religion, their belief, pagan, wiccan, celtic..... There are several diff ones. And they are not all bad, but I know a couple. I am not one. I believe in one god, The others believe in more than one god, or sometimes like wiccan, fire, water, trees and I think air? I cant remember, something like that, they prey to these and to the other gods, in ancient times that was how it was in different places. They have covens, easily found online. But it is something I dont mess with, I wouldnt recomend it. I hope this answers your question a little bit. Read the bible, they may have something about it in there, King James Version

Of course they do, a witch follows the Wiccan religion. Someone doesn't have to fly on a broomstick to be a witch.
