A request is simply that, a request. If this is in the USA, that is her right to make a request. I think your concern is weather or not it's granted.

Most of the time the mother gets full physical custody of the children, with reasonable visitation going to the father. These days though, many couples agree to joint physical custody. The kids spend part of the time with Mom and part with Dad. Neither parent has to relinquish parental rights though. The mother can request anything she likes. It is up to the judge to make the decision on the matter.

yes, either party (the mother or the father) has the right to request full custody. whether they get it or not is another matter, up to the judge to decide.

You can request it, generally the mother does get full custody unless there is a reason she shouldn't. It also depends on the father, if he wants full or joint custody. GOOD LUCK! : )

Both parties have a right to seek full custody, which is not to say that either will get full custody.

The mother has every right to request it if it is in the best benefit of the children. As a matter of fact if it is for their best interest, it is her duty to do it for her children.

You have the right if you are the primary parent that is going to take care of those children. If the father has been taking care of them then he is the custodial parent but if not then take him to court.l

Where I am, you have to request it and the father must agree. Otherwise, he has to be proven unfit and that is pretty rare. Usually, an OK dad will get weekends and every second wednesday.
