A few days ago, my biology teacher told the whole class that there is a shark in Lake Pepin. He said that the force of Hurricane Katrina pushed some salt water up the Mississippi River, and a shark tagged along with it. He said that the people who discovered the shark didn't say anything until now, in fear of making people scared.

Could this possibly be true? I have a lake house on Lake Pepin...

is lake pipin salt water?

is ti brackish...at least a 50/50 mix of salt and fresh water?

well i know that it is not salt water. so a shark cannot survive there no way no how. they can only survive in salt water.

if it is brackish. a bull shark could possibly live there for a short period of time. a few weeks maximum. bull sharks are the only species that are able to travel in brackish and fresh water. and they are one of the more dangerous species of sharks.
but for it to live in the lake for over a year is highly unlikely. and more than likely someone would have seen it or evidence of it long ago. they are shallow water fish and they are surface feeders. a fisherman probally would have had a eavy bite by now.

as far as shark attacks go ..you are literaly more likely to be killed by a falling coconut than by a shark it is unlikely that if it did survive that it would ever attack a human.
