Your "internet" goes down because the data may be sent to the other computer on the network with the same address. Try to renew your IP address. To do this (assuming you are using MS Windows)
1) Select Start->Run
2) Type "cmd" in the box (without the quotes)
3) Select Ok
4) Type "ipconfig /release" (without the quotes) and hit "enter" on your keyboard in the box that pops up - this will "release" your current IP address or let everyone know its up for grabs again
5) Type "ipconfig /renew" (without the quotes) and hit "enter" on your keyboard - this will get you a new ip address
This will only work if your IP is not manually entered. If you are still having problems let me know

Yes you can fix it yourself, right click the two or single screen icon's in the bottom right hand corner click on properties on there you'll see a list scroll down until you find Internet protocol(TCP/IP) click on the properties tab make sure that your system is set for Obtain an IP address automatically. also known as DHCP as well obtain DNS automatically. The other computer might have a static ip . But if all else fails then you should give Networkmagic.com a try they have a trail version or you can buy it I did and it works

Interesting problem. I used to work in internet support, and this error does usually come up when people use a wireless router. I would check your tcp/ip properties and see if something is hard coded in your computer. Does Teton use DHCP to allocate IP addresses, or do they use static IP addresses for clients? To check to see if you have a hard coded IP: Click 'Start' and go to 'Control Pannel' Open 'Network Connections' Right click your LAN (local area connection) and go to 'Properties'. Find TCP/IP in the list of 'This connection uses the following...' Highlight it and push the 'properties' button. Most ISPs use DHCP, so if that is the case you should have the radio button filled in to "Obtain IP address automatically'. If your ISP uses static IPs, the radio button will be filled in to 'Use the following IP address' and the fields will be filled out. You should find out from Teton how that info should be filled out, because you may have an IP address configuration setup in here that was from your previous ISP.

Conflicting? Hmm..
Everyone gets their own IP address when you log on the net.
Well let me correct myself, almost everyone gets their own. Companies like AOL like to share them with other users.
But since you said network, then i assume you are on a network.
The network should give out different IP's to all the users if it is setup the proper way. You net going down for a bit is because someone else is on that same IP and using it at the same time. Or they are on your network and using too much bandwitdth, causing you to go down.
If you are using a wireless connection , someone may be on it if it is not secured.
If you are on a newtowrk, best way to fix is to speak with the person that runs it.
If you are on your wireless connection , make it secured.

In dialup and most broadband connections u have dynamic ip addresses. It changes in every session. Disconnect from net and try again after a few minutes. Maybe then, u will be able 2 login without problem.

this happended on my home network because of static address, i had three comps with static address, this was not a problem untill i turned on my network printer that had a permanant address, that had been reasigned to my comp by the router. so either give each comp a permant ip or turn on the printer before the computers!

The same thing happened to me last week. My wireless connection kept going down, but would work again after a few minutes. I don't know how to explain it, but it stopped happening after I restarted my router. Check your modem and/or router, restart them, if it keeps happening try calling your internet service provider for advice
