Everytime I go on the net, Norton Internet Security detects and blocks an intrusion attempt. The intruder is identified (specifically: "172.19.103.3"). I do not wish to go to the site as I am afraid that by simply doing so may do additional harm to my PC. I understand that I am protected as it is now. But I want to finally and completely stop this intrusion attempts. Thanks for your help.

You can't stop the intrusion attempt, because you can't control the person(s) behind it. You can only prevent it from being successful, which you are doing.

Some security software allow you to tell it not to let you know when it blocks intrusion attempts. Personally, I never turn off the notification since I want to KNOW when someone is trying to invade my privacy.

The only way you're going to stop it from hitting your computer is to stop it higher up the food chain. The next stop is a firewall/router. If you have one, you can stop it from ever touching your computer. I'd recommend you get a firewall to prevent this from happening.

hi! i agree with Marc, I'm just adding that the best known firewall to me is the zone alarm firewall, available for free or the pro version for a fee at download.com
