More information would be helpful. But try going to "My Computer" and see if there's a folder called "Shared". If so, look in there. Or look for a folder labeled "My Music". Does it list the songs, but won't play them, or are they not even listed?

I had the same problem with windows media player. This is what i had to do. I opened up windows media player. And when i had it opened. I clicked on library and at the at the top of the player. At bottom of window`s player it should have a little green cross that will say Add to library. Click on it and a window will pop up. When the window come`s up. Click on by searching computer. And if your music file`s are on the computer they will come up on window`s media player. This worked for me maybe it will work for you.
I hope this can help you.

Well, I didn't see your first question, I'm sorry.
Anyway, if you can't open any music files with your Windows Media Player, it's probably because it's gone corrupt.
Please go to Add/Remove Programs and remove it. That'll roll you back to the previous version which should work.
May I also recommend the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack with Media Player Classic? It'll play, literally, anything and everything. Please download it from http://home.hccnet.nl/h.edskes/finalbuilds.htm Please download the 34 MB version which has every conceivable codec contained in it.
All the best.
Cheers

Not enough information. You need to say exactly what the problem is. You open Media Player, go to File Open and nothing is there? No one has a clue as to what you are talking about.
My car won't work, does not get an answer.

In my case I am computer "illiterate". I would guess you may have a filter in place that you don't know about or....some other security feature on your PC that is blocking access! Good luck!

What format are your music files in? WMP will recognize your files if they are in a format it recognizes.
