does liking your friend of the opposite sex ruin your friendship?

Ok, this one gets a kind of long explanation.
It probably won't ruin the friendship, persay, but it can make it tricky for you.
Especially if your friend doesn't like you that way back.

It all kind of depends on how long you've been friends, and how close you two are. I have a male friend that has been my closest friend for over 8 years now. We met when we were little, but got close when we were about 12. Starting around then I developed a huge crush on him, and I never forgot it.

I told him a few times, but he was afraid that we would jeopardize our friendship by getting intimate. I didn't like to hear this at the time, but it turned out for the best in the end. To this day, I still can't forget that he was my first love, but I am very happy with someone else, and me and him (my friend) are closer than ever.

But, it's different in every situation. Sometimes the best relationships in the world come from people that were friends for years before even committing to anything.

It's all about you, it's a personal decision. You have to decide for yourself if you want to tell him/her how you feel.

Good luck!!

It depends on

1) If you let your feelings for your friend get in the way (getting jealous if they are with someone etc...
2) If they don't feel the same way, and you are hurt by it.

Other than that nothing is wrong with it.

Sometimes it does, however, lots of folks know where to draw boundaries and never cross them. Men and women can be friends if they both agree that is all they can be. Good luck !

I'm my eyes, yes! As soon as I find that out, then I run. I do not like any of my friends being more than friends-it's gross; it's weird.
