A type of deer.the skin or leather is a very good car drier but is hard to get lately.

WalMart sells the real skin chamios. My dad used one to dry the truck after a wash.

a chamois is a European animal like a llama prized for it's very soft skin, which was traditionally used to make clothes and other materials which were pleasing to the touch, they also produce soft supple leather which became known for its gentleness
a shammy as it is now often called is just a soft cloth for polishing/shining you car, and they are no longer made from animal skin
