Ask for at least 5 bucks an hour being that the minimum wage to work legally like in a fast food joint is 6 and change. Don't take nothing less than 5-good luck!

I live in ontario Canada and I would charge $6-8 dollars for the first 5 hours and after that the rate would reduce to $4-5 for the next 5 hours.
If your babysitting for more than that amount of time then just work out a flat fee.
I think you should make at least $5 an hour minimum.

There really is no set wage for babysitting unless you have a license to do so.Everybody should be paid at the rate of 5 dollars per hour regardless of the occupation. If you are working for a company then of course it would be more. 2 dollars per hour should be added for each additional child

there is no legal minimum wage for the kind of babysitting you are doing
my daughter told me she recently paid a sitter $3/hr
what you should charge depends on the prevailing rate in your area plus the specifics of the job (number of kids, how late into the night, etc)

there really is no minumum wage, but most beginners should make $5 an hour, if you do well for a while and keep the house clean, while taking care of the kids you should be moved up to around $7 an hour..

There's no set minimum wage for babysitters -- you just charge enough that it's fair to you (worth your while) and yet at an attractive enough rate for parents to want to hire you.
