and some music editing software
something similar to magix music maker creation (or even better)
grab some loops from somewhere

it depends on what you're trying to do as far as remixing. If you want to make a dance remix of a song, you need some expensive equipment and/or computer programs. You can re-edit a song from a CD to maybe a cassette. It may not be what you want, but that way you can record just a part of song, then record a different part of the song. Using the pause button on your cassette while recording can allow you to change the part of the song on the CD without recording it.
