There are too many people that do not believe in wars, they do not associate our freedom with people dying in wars to protect our freedom. I live in Australia, and if it wasnt for the Military we probably would be a Japanese Country by now. If it wasnt for the Military, the USA would probably be under German Law by now. The Government spends millions on the Military, only so our freedom can be protected. The Human Rights People come in and force their opinions on others whereby they are allowing people to live in Western Countries when they dont have western beliefs. Look at all the terrorist activity all over the world today and I believe that is because we have become too tolerant and have gone too far in Human Rights. If a non-citizen commits a crime, they should be sent back to their own country. We should have zero tolerance for things like that. Its the Military and the people who have fought and died that everyone in Western Civilisation should be thanking for them to be walking around free. They think it is their Right to have freedom of speech. They have only that Right because of the people who fought and died for our freedom. I think they need to think about that when they become so cocky about talking about their Rights. They wouldnt have any Rights if we were ruled by the Communists, and that could have happened very easily many times.
I agree with you.

People just tend to take it all for granted (you don't know what you have got until it's gone...). We live in a country whose mainland has never been attacked, and has never had to fight a war on their home turf against an outside invading nation...most others have.
I don't so much feel "proud" to be an American, just LUCKY. I could have just as easily been born in some third world country, where just getting enough to eat each day would be a struggle...instead of feeling deprived, because my neighbor has a better car, or bigger T.V., or louder stereo than me.
We Americans tend to forget just how great we have it, and how soft we have become. Not to mention how much freedom to choose we have. Some of this is slowly being eroded, in the name of security--it is the way in which terrorists have won...we are now being taught to be so suspicious of each other, that we allow the government to intrude into our business more than ever before--and make us pay for their efforts to boot: with taxes.
But I for one, am aware that despite all of this, I live in the best country on earth, and in one of the best areas (the San Francisco Bay Area).
I'm truly blessed.

No, you are not the only one who cares!! Unfortunately these days it seems like some people are getting more self-centered and just don't care about the freedoms that we have. If they were all taken away tomorrow, then yes, they would start caring. We all at times take things for granted and hopefully one day for all the people that just don't care will see just how lucky we are!!! People also forget that our freedoms come from God!!!

People in the USA just know what thier freedom is but tell me....if any of those men that died were born in other country and, still, won, how would you feel about being a boy in a sweatshop or a factory?
Those men that you say that fought for "freedom2 only sought their own richness and power.
Thank who? Murderers?

NO, my brother died in Vietnam at age 21,and back then they surely had more respect for our country. I think alot of people in the USA don't give are service men a second thought. i find it disgusting.our country needs more real men like the ones fighting for our freedom. GOD BLESS THEM AND GOD BLESS THE USA!!!

No, I am very grateful to the men and women in the armed services. It's because they are willing to go to war, for us to continue with our freedom! God bless America!

Of course your not. I'm sure that when it comes down to it there are alot of people who are just a grateful. I think we have become so comfortable with our freedon that weve forgotten how to show our appreciation to those who gave up their lives so we could live this comfortablly. Keep thinking the way you do and keep asking these kinds of questions, it made me stop and think how grateful I truly am.

No, you are not alone out there. I believe there are a lot of people who know exactly how much our freedom costs. Just ask any parent of a soldier who is killed in action, they'll tell you "freedom don't come free."
I love and support all our troops out there!

I agree with you. We are very blessed when it comes to freedom and when I say we take advantage that we are free but for all of those who are out there taking care of business, I pray that you come back safe and sound and no harm comes to you. Thank you for that reminder.
