Hi, had the same problem when first instaled BitComet, my downloading speed was 30-40% of the maximum and browsing was realy slow. After some searching, i found this post, which pretty much explains where the problem is. Good Luck

Here is the deal with Bitcomet. What it does is allows you to download off of other people who already have the files and are sharing via bitcomet. The user sets up how fast they want to transfer and thats as fast as you can recieve from that person. But with bitcomet you download from multiple people, different sections of the file, so that it downloads faster overall. Say you have 4 seeders (people who are sharing the file) and only 2 of them are letting you download off of them, the first gives you 50mbps for the second 50% of the file, where the other is giving 3kbps for the first 50%. Now this is going to take a while to get the first 50% but not long to get the second 50%, so when one is over, if you are not done with the other, bitcomet will split the remaining between the two again and again until you end up getting 95% from the first person and only 5% from the other. Hope that helps!!!

Scrap that crap and go to Morpheus. The newer version of Morpheus contains no spy or adware.
