Led Zeppelin, but you have to give credit to the Stones. They're in their sixties, and still rocking like banshees.

They are both great bands but Im gonna have to go with Led Zeppelin.
I say this because I have heard more music by them than the Rolling Stones and I personally like their sound better. They have a variety of sounds where as RS only has that same song over and over again type of thing.
But I havnt really heard a lot of songs by RS so I dont really have a valid opinion. However, I loved everything I have ever heard by LZ so I stick with them.

I have to say Led Zeppelin . REMEMBER when .. you were in junior high school and you were 13 or 14 .. your first love .. and all the firsts that went with it ,,, hearing MISTY MOUNTIAN HOP ... or ROCK AND ROLL ... or The RAIN SONG .. RAMBLE ON . it has to take you back to a place that is so sweet ... so cool .. so long ago... The songs are timless...THESE SONGS never sound old do they ... I remember when John Bonham died... it was a sad day for a kid... I remember when in through the outdoor finally came out ... It was a day..I got one of the first albums they wernt they all different and had paper sacks on them remember when you had your LED ZEPPELIN posters from Peaches ... and the cream magazine posters all over your room. But remember when you had to listen to your new cassetts on a new boom box.. and your new boom box was soo cool... untill your parents screamed at you for having it so loud...THey couldnt hear the NEWS in the livingroom ... I was going to grow up and marry robert plant .. I guess his wife was just going to surrender him up LOL ... But I have to say music is the heart of a generation ... I can tell you about the day I gave birth to my three children .. But I cant remember what my husband bought me for my birthday. and countless other things .. But put a LED ZEPPLEIN song on .. and I can remember EVER WORD TO EVERY SONG... I mean I have my LED ZEPPELIN cd collection .. but when it comes on the radio unexpected .. Its like going back home to a timeless place... a place to drift back to and remember your dreams . and "ALL THOSE FIRSTS if you know what I mean... LED ZEPPELIN for me ... OH yeah and sprinkle some black sabbath in there. ..

cmon led zeppelin. look at what john bowham did for rock and roll druming. the man was a half beat ahead on most cuts. every album pure classic rock. the best ever. my son when he was 13 yoa, he and his friends were very much into zeppelin. then and now forever.

OK let's just say right here, they are both great bands.
But the Stones are much, much better. They were a driving force in R&R. For decades! Look at how they evolved, withstood a founding member dying, getting a new drummer, and just kept rolling along.

The Stones don't compare to Zepplin. Zepplin was a better band altogether.

Personally, I dig them both equally! I ♥ all sorts of music. With these two great bands, as put forth in your question, "my answer remains the same". lol.
