The body tries to keep in balance by adjusting to change in the body. Example in humans the body tries to keep its temperature at about 98 F'. If the body gets too hot its may respond by increasing the blood flow to the skin, and also produce sweat, as the sweat evaporates it it requires heat to change from liquid sweat to vapor. This heat is provided by the skin and as a result the body loses heat and may cool down.

The body regulates many chemical levels. For example blood sugar. A disease like Diabetes can be thought of as an Homeostatic imbalance.

I define love as an overwhelming emotion that floods my senses. I look at my Soul mate and the feeling I get is like a ball of warmth and emotion in my tummy that rises up into my chest and sometimes makes me cry because it is so strong. If love was a colour, to me it would be a warm orange. If it was a shape it would be a sphere. It comes over me in glorious heavy waves and tightens my chest. Sloppy eh. hahahahahahahaha pass the sick bowl. x

Homeostasis is the property of an open system, especially living organisms, to regulate its internal environment to maintain a stable, constant condition, by means of multiple dynamic equilibrium adjustments, controlled by interrelated regulation mechanisms. The term was coined in 1932 by Walter Cannon from the Greek homoios (same, like, resembling) and stasis (to stand, posture).
Main examples of homeostasis in mammals are as follows:
1] The regulation of the amounts of water and minerals in the body. This is known as osmoregulation. This happens in the kidneys.
2] The removal of metabolic waste. This is known as excretion. This is done by the excretory organs such as the kidneys and lungs.
3] The regulation of body temperature. This is mainly done by the skin.
4] The regulation of blood glucose level. This is mainly done by the liver and the insulin secreted by the pancreas in the body.
