Not all Christians are like this but a majority of them I have meet quote you should love thou neighbor but wish violence, sickness or death to someone different such as a gay(not a lesbian becuase most really like them), jew, a person of a different race, and so on. This is just my experience and everywhere I look on the internet, tv, radio, I hear and see the same negative crap and the way I feel we as Americans are still in the mentality as people who lived in the 50's and 60's very conservated and scared of change. I'm not bashing conservatives for each his own. I just saying we nned to change the way we look and approach issues dealing with our country and well being.

It has nothing to do with being a hypocrite like the first person said.
I know that alot of Christians are raised believing that certain things are against Gods wishes, such as being gay, sex before marriage, abortion, having a relationship outside your race, etc. Therefore, anything that goes against what they are raised to believe God commands, is wrong and those who do these things are wrong. If you are raised this way, then you really feel that what you believe is true, and you don't want to change your views.
At least that is how I think most Christians are.

There are certain things, above others that seem to really cross the line with some Christians. I, for example, am completely against abortion and I am very passionate about this. I don't hate those who are for it or who have done it, but my passion for my beliefs, lead me to try to convince others to see my way. They may not change or even listen to me, but my beliefs make me feel that I have to at least try. Sometimes that passion comes across as anger and hatred, even though it is just frustration.

Anyways, that is just my opinion.

All Christians could take a lesson from the way the Amish Community of Lancaster County, PA have reacted to the shooting in their community.

There has been more than a Milion Dollars donated to them, they say they will use only what is needed to help the victims and their families, the rest they are using to set up college funds for the children of the man who did the shooting!!

They know those children are just as much victims of this man's deeds as their own children are.

Talk about being a Good Christian!

You are SO right!!!!!!! They have opinions and they are right and the rest of the world are wrong!!!!!!!!! I went up against them already with all kinds of proof and I was STILL wrong. Very narrow minded. I think that when these people finally DO face GOD they are in for a rude awakening!!!!!!!!!!And I want a front row seat so I can hear their lame excuses as to why they act and think the way they do.ALSo I noticed that their opinions are fed into their brains thru the preachers. That is they all seem to be brainwashed by the pastor of their church, in the way they act and veiw things. Ever notice that?

This is why I've given up on following any religion. I'm too much of a bleeding heart to think that just because someone is different than me, they're going to go to hell.

But I've noticed that, too. You'll see the most religous men and women spreading hate, spewing filth, and causing pain. Hyprocrisy is very prevalent in this world and it unfortunatley is the supposedly most holy of the population doing this. That's why Ghandi once said, that he would love to be a Christian if he could only find one. A little tongue a in cheek, but sadly true.

The simple truth is that many, many christians deny the very words of Christ, this is mostly due to a false theology that finds it's home in people's churches, but not the plain words of scripture:

Mat 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

It's a difficult thing to love a causal neighbor, more less an enemy but Christ clearly commands it.

Those who deny Christ's own commandments can still claim to be "christians"...they can also claim to be a alien from pluto, it doesn't make it so.

Mainstream Christianity teaches a God that LOVES ALL, and then in turn teaches us to LOVE OUR OWN ENEMIES, just so that He can eventually torture His own (and our own enemies later on...) for all eternity to boot!.....SICK, SICK, SICK.

Well scripture doesn't teach this. I encourage you to skip past the middle man if you have an interest in learning what the Bible may actually teach....rely on NOBODY'S "holier then thou" authority and church position...simply pray with humility for the "EYES" to see the truth within, and READ YOURSELF.....

There are a lot of Hypocrites in the Christian religion. Very seldom do you see a real Christian. A lot of people use churches as social clubs and also churches now days are big business. The real relationship with God is between you and God. People so make mistakes however and we need to be accepting of that fact. There are a lot of crooked so called Christians out there but, there are a lot of Christians who actually believe in it as well. Most Christians have never really sat down and read the bible. They rely on the church and the books the church produces.

It just sounds like you are around the wrong people. Where I work I am treated bad because I am Christian, so does that mean everyone who does not believe in God acts with hate? It's not that we are afraid of change it's that we still have the same morals, do you expect our religion to change with the times?

Saying one is a Christian and being a Christian are different things. I read that Christianity is about Relationship and not religion. Errr.....should be anyway. It's good of you to realize that not ALL Christians show anger/hatred towards. Kudos. There are good people and bad people in EVERYTHING.

I don't understand why they act that way either. Preaching love and forgiveness, then threaten to beat someones head in. I don't understand it at all. I like everyone (that is respectful), for me it doesn't matter what your background is, what sexual partner you want, if your a nice person and respectful, I will be your friend. I get along with people from all walks-of-life, as long as they are caring. If someone shows disrespect then I dismiss them pretty quickly from my life, I don't have time for shallow and closed minded people.

These are the christians who do not practice what their religion preaches. last time I walked by a church I don't remember any rallies against all those who were different. It's the interpretation of a few biggots hiding behind a bible
