Hey, guys....single celled organisms aren't "animals"...they're protists.
The first animals were probably sponges.

Sea urchins and most other animals begin their embryonic development as small clusters of cells, called blastulas.
The seas were full of creatures millions of years before the first dinosaurs appeared.
