I would pick Princeton. I don't care for the atmosphere of Boston or Cambridge. I'd much rather plan a trip into NYC.

Academically, they are near equals, but Princeton is currently much cooler.

I would go to Princeton. I'm a sciences type, specifically physics, and so Princeton would match me much better. That and New Jersey, despite all its many flaws (expensive car insurance, relatively expensive living, the whole city of Elisabeth... ;) ), it's close to my heart (I was born there and I went to high school and college there).

Both are excellent schools, though I might say that Princeton might have the advantage in the sciences while Harvard might edge Princeton out in the humanities and social sciences. But then again, it's like comparing 1000 ounces of gold and 1000.01 ounces of gold, their both very nice, and their both too damn close to make a huge difference.

Then again, technically Princeton and my alma mater (Rutgers U.) are something of mortal enemies, so perhaps I should say Harvard... ;)

Im from NJ an live only 40 min away from Princeton, but I would not go there for school. Maybe because its close to home, but I'm a MedTech major hoping to go to med school, and since harvard has one of the best med schools, i'll rather go there. plus, the school colors are cooler at harvard. =D [princeton: black and orange (it'll be halloween every day) harvard: crimson, black, white)]

They're both good schools. I would first look which school will give me more financial aid and then look at location. I would more and likely go to Harvard because it's located in Boston and there's much to do there and a reliable subway. Princeton, however, doesn't sound as metropolitan and is centered in the suburbs.

Congratulations! What's your major? Which has more contact with professors or are the graduate students teaching the classes?Ask both for graduate's names to contact and ask people who have been there to tell you about each in the field you plan to study.
