Hi, I'm Japanese. How would you refuse someone's invite if you were not interested in that. especially between good friends.......I don't want to hurt them but I don't really hope to join.

Just say, "My dance card is full"/"I'm busy"/"I just need to chill tonight" ended with "Sorry! :)"

You can politely decline by saying you would've loved to come to the party, but unfortunately you have some prior engagement that will keep you from attending.

Or, the truth may actually be the better way to go, if the reason you're not attending isn't something that will hurt your friendship. And if it is something that you think your friend will find hurtful, then you may need to deal with some other issues in your relationship that go deeper than just an invitation.

Hope things work out!

Good luck!

Just say "No, thank you. Maybe some other time." I'm sure your friends will understand that nobody has to say yes to every invitation - I certainly don't.

Nicely tell them, you do not want to ruin a friendship by becoming too involved...A real friend would understand!
