They would were it not for gravity.
Gravity keeps all things on the earth. without it everything would be slung away into space by the force of the earth turning as it moved aropund the sun.
Gravity is formed by a solid iron core (10,000 miles thick)which is sounded by a hot core of magna . The frictiion creates heat which is responsible for also responsible for helping gravity as it travels around the iron core. With out gravity even the oceans would fly off alone with the atmosphere. All life would soon cease except maybe under the deepest rocks until the entire planet disintergrated which would happen.

Gravity and magnetism are closely related, but they are not the same thing! Gravity keeps us to the Earth. All bodies of mass, ie anything that takes up space in the universe, exerts a gravitational pull on the surrounding universe. That means everything, from the Earth, to your body, to the smallest particle of dust, exerts gravity. We stay on the Earth, because the Earth is so incredibly large in comparison to our bodies, that is has much more gravity than our body can overcome.
There are other planets in the universe of course. And they all exert their gravity on us as well. But because they are trillions of miles away, this gravity is pretty much, for standard purposes, nonexistant.

All large objects produce a certain amount of gravitational pull. The larger the object, the stronger the gravity is. That gravity is actually the REASON that planets are round.....they "pull" themselves into a round shape.
