It depends. My husband and I knew each other four years before we got married but some people get married after knowing each other for one day and it lasts longer than people who have know each other and been together for years. If you feel that connection with the person and that's what you want to do, do it. Love is a crazy thing. At the end of the day if it works enjoy it, if it ends just learn from your mistake.

My husband and I dated for 2 years and were engaged for 2 so that I could plan our wedding. I honestly think 4 years is a great amount of time. Anything less than 2 years is not a good idea

Never. Relationships are better before marriage. Before marriage, you always have to work to keep the relationship going. But once a couple is married, they stop trying.

I think as a couple you truly know when the time is right. My husbands grandparents knew eachother one week before they married and they just celebrated their 72nd wedding ann. three months ago. They married when they we 17 and 18.

If you don't have any financial worries, within 2 years.
You know after 3 months if you can get along with each other and after 2 years you know if you can seriously get along with each other.
Best wishes,
pup

my husband and I dated for five years. Longer is better. You really need enough time to get to know that person. Really, I think people should live together first, to see if they are compatible. You never really know a person until you live with them.

It depends. You should probably date for at LEAST six months, and then stay ENGAGED for at LEAST six! Anyone who is getting married needs to know that they want to spend the rest of their lives with eachother. =]

well actually it depends on how serious they are in their relatioship. if they really think they are mature enough, maybe after the getting-to-know you stage and after one has enjoyed his/her single life.
also, they should thake into consideration that they are emotionally ready as well as financially. these elements if not on hand oftentimes ruin a relationship.
Good Luck!
