Do they go Trick-or-Treating?

I am just curious..

It's not any kind of official holiday, but dress-up-in-costume Halloween parties have become somewhat popular with teens and young adults.
There is no trick-or-treating anywhere. If you knocked on somebody's door in costume, they'd probably call the cops :)

No. But within the last 10 years you can see tons of Halloween stuff for sale.
In my opinion, a lot of the English schools did halloween parties japanese kids and it kind of caught on. There are also costume parties at halloween time on various train lines (but have been cracked down on by police due to drunken craziness).

Basically, its just an opportunity for companies to sell stuff and make money. Nobody here has any idea what trick or treat means.

Halloween is one American holiday that has not caught on much with the Japanese. I read in the paper one time that one Japanese said "Halloween teaches kids to be little beggars."
