I want to know why molestors get less jail time than a drug addict or dealer. To me I think there's no money in keeping a sexual predator in prison, but with drug dealer there's a lot of money to be made by the state govornment for funding anti drug policies and reform. I don't know I am just frusterated w/ these sick perverts out here on our streets. What do you guys think, am I wrong?

I think the real problem is not in jailing them, but in protecting them while in jail. Very few child molesters live out there sentence in general population!

I do think of people who touch infants must be imprisoned and could be marked a predator, specific. A predator for existence? perhaps, perhaps no longer -- i do no longer want to correctly known their reason whilst they touched a toddler. I do understand your factor. the challenge will become the place do you draw the line. whilst ought to somebody be a predator of infants? you may no longer drink till you're 21; ought to or no longer that is under 21? Vote at 18, so under 18? force at sixteen, so under sixteen? it could have been consensual, yet that would not substitute the reality that she remains, technically, a toddler. infants are turning out to be sexually lively at 11, 12, 13! i do no longer want to work out regulations saying that a 13 300 and sixty 5 days previous isn't a toddler because of fact they are, to me. A sixteen 300 and sixty 5 days previous is a toddler to me. on the same time as a sixteen 300 and sixty 5 days previous are in a position to guard themselves greater desirable than a 6 300 and sixty 5 days previous, it does no longer mean they should not be secure and could be compelled into adulthood till now their time. in case you want to be an recommend, I applaud you. yet please evaluate the justifications for those regulations and the a while. in the journey that your cousin become 40 4, could it nevertheless be ok? (some states do have age brackets that provide lesser offenses to youthful perpretrators, including "over 17 yet no better than 3 years older than sufferer", and so on. It style of covers the youngster who turns 18 it quite is relationship a 17 300 and sixty 5 days previous.) And at what age do you think approximately those victims to no longer be victims anymore? it quite is molestation against a toddler, so which you need to come back up with the thank you to confirm who's and is not any longer a toddler. reliable success.

You're pointing a "comparison question" from one social sickness to another: The real question is why do we have these symptomatic problems rising to greater levels than ever before? Your frustration, while understandable, is nevertheless knee-jerk "reactionary" rather than reflecting upon the "society-at-large" and its inherent deficits. We can look at the very web that we engage as a mirror into what we as a world & society permit & embrace. Many otherwise thoughtful people find this "hard to accept"- but we are then collectively responsible for the "monsters" that we allow to "slip through the cracks" and avoid early detection & thereby, timely "remediation" of the trouble behaviors.
Each of us, whether we accept it or not, has at least some degree of complicity or culpability in the allowance of these social sicknesses to continue unabated. Ewing (et al) pointed out a then-and-still-prevalent trend back in the 1970's he refered to as the "Autonomy-Withdrawl Syndrome:" It basically pointed to the way in which our society was becoming ever-the-more stuctured to discourage "sustained human contact" where daily, meaningful dialogue would become ever-lessened and instead we would become a society of 'blurbs' and one-liner idioms... bringing communications to an ever-the-more "superficial level." We would become ever-the-more seduced and "co-domesticated" by our entertainment "tech" and passive in our socialization choices. The majority of values shared would be those "churned out" soley by "pop culture." When you consider the countless disenchanted, disenfranchized, disinhereted, dis-illusioned, dis-counted, etc. - its clear this society has become "dissed!" And all these dysfunctional types have largely "fallen through the cracks" with no end in site... No, you've only seen the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the inherent social sickness of Western Culture... The internet is an extention of human intellect, desires, agendas, etc.; it is a mirror unto all that we are, have been, hope to become, and yes, BECOMING! Have you truly "sampled" what "out there?" Every interest, activity, appetite, and whim is givin' audience and if there's a buck to be made.....
Try to think about this "culture" of ours on a much DEEPER level.

Both are horrible creatures and should be put away, but the drug dealer may change his ways and at some point deserve a second chance. The child molester (or other sexual predator) should at least be castrated before he is released (after a VERY long stay in prison).

you are right! Those perverts do get less time and once out they go back to molesting children! We are all seeing the domino effects of this perversion , on our children ,especially the boys! These people themselves were molested when they were children, and if not helped the trauma follows the domino effect! This in turn leads to more perversion on children , and is like a roll over, it must be soped, we must protect , watch and be alert always with our boys! , Because is mostly boys that are sexually abused! They should get the maximun m especially if two times ofender, one time community service with OLDER people ,jail time 4 to 6 yrs, second time 20 to 40 yrs , and thrird time castrated!

ABSOLUTLEY. Yeah, their logic is a drug dealer harms a lot of people, but how many kids walk up to a child molester and PAY HIM MONEY to rape them???? That's the most retarded thing I've ever heard of. I knew a guy who got 37 years for dealing speed while this other guy adopted a 5 year old Russian girl for the purpose of making her sleep in his bed and taking pictures of her for child porn sites. The child molester will be released in like 2013 or something ridiculous like that. It just proves that a government agenda of regulating morality actually helps to perpetuate immorality.

They are don't plenty of things to get the predators away. They have programs to help them mentally, dateline is doing a thing to catch them and they have so many child saftey thing.
The way I see it is that drug addicts and dealers made the choice to take the drug and sell it. Locking them up is away to punish them and make them stop. They know better and they could do better
As for these perverts punishment is not going to help them. I believe it's a mental disease that they need to fix by more then punishing them. You need to help these people out to keep the kids safe.

I heard something in the news recently about the death sentence and pedophiles. I think sexual predators should be put away for a long time. I think I would sentence pedophiles to death if i was given the option.

By the logic of the government the drug dealer is harming hundreds of people while the predator is only harming a small group.
