That's easy. Motor City 5 were pioneers of Detroit Punk. They totally paved the way for Anti-Flag. Also, Social Distortion made/makes some amazing music. If you ever happen to hear him, there's a guy out of Flint, MI . . . Homeless Matt Ratza that makes Greaser Punk. He changed my life.

i don't know about indie but i think evanescence and the panic channel are great rock bands and pink and Avril Lavinge for punk.
