Serena never won the Grand Slam (4 majors in the same calendar year as defined by the International Tennis Federation)

2002 French Open
2002 Wimbledon
2002 US. Open
2003 Australian

She was the 6th woman to hold all 4 titles at the same time.

As far as undefeated goes, in all cases, she lost the tournaments held before and after each Grand Slam tournament. In her entire tennis career she has only won 11 tournaments, 7 of them being grand slam events. So she has never had an undefeated string of any serious length.

She lost matches in between the run to the four consecutive
Slams. She didn't win the Grand Slam, since the Grand Slam
is defined as winning all four Grand Slam tournaments within
the same calendar year. Serena managed to win 3 of 4 in 2002,
and 1 the next season. She was 56-5 during the 2002 season,
and 36-3 the following season. She lost in WTA Tour Championships Final to Kim Clijsters in 2002 for example.

She took about 9 months to achieve Serena Slam.It all started from French Open(usually on the month of May) until Australian Open(usually on January).

NB to the person who said she's only won 11 career titles - she's actually won 26 in singles and 11 in doubles.

28 matches probably that would be the number of matches you need to win in order to win four straight slams as she did
