Birds of a feather flock together is the moral from an Aesop's fable. The fable is about a flock of crows being captured in a net, and another bird, maybe a crane, is captured along with them by the farmer. They were all thieves even though they were different types of birds.

The first thing is that it is not a quote, but a proverb. It means that people who have somehting in comman, like are all the same age level, or all musicians,, or all artists etc. and they hang out with each other and nobdy else. You don't see seagulls hanging out with the pigeons right?? So its the same kind of rule.

it's basically the thing with fads of today; everybody seems to want to be like everyone else and those who are afraid to look wierd join the others. too many people are afraid to express themselves.

It means that people who are similar can be found grouped together. For example, in school, you have "preps" "jocks" "nerds" "band geeks" and so on.

be careful who you hang out with because they will determine your reputation.
example:
your friends use drugs and even though you do not, everyone will think you do.
