I've never liked Madonna or her music, but I do have to give her credit. She's an excellent actress. That should have been her calling.

I'm not saying this out of any dislike for Madonna... in fact I have always been quite fascinated with her career, and her ability to re-invent herself and move with the times better than any other artist. But she has been a publicity hunter all this time, and is probably no more or less so now.
Same goes for pretty much all celeb's, especially those who have reached icon status. It's just the way it works.
