it depends on who owns the computer if your employer owns the computer then your spouse could be in big trouble (and you too) if you own it then are you really going to call the cops and report it?

if it is the family computer that is not really hacking. if they used the family computer to hack into your email account you would have trouble proving it was them.

but if the computer or mail account was in your name and you could show that you had not accessed it at a certain time and a computer that your spouse used had then you could possibly get a conviction. it would be very useful for getting a barring order in the case of separation or other legal action.

it would really be a decision for the police...

Under the acts enabled after 9/11. Hacking can be considered a terrorist act. So yes, it is illegal. The ONLY REASON anyone should ever hack is with specific permission of the computers owner with the intention of increasing security.

first of all, you've somewhat likely been a sufferer of a Javachronic by technique of hacking. i might want to signify you run as a lot as date antivirus software and eliminate the virus out of your computer. it is prohibited to hack into yet another persons computer notwithstanding this is no longer well worth prosecuting the hacker in any respect until eventually he has stolen money or valuable information from you.

Are you talking about "hacking" or "cracking"?
"Hackers" are excellent programmers who will try to get into secure sites, then tell the site owner that they have done so, and will often come up with a program which will keep others from getting into the site.
"Crackers" are people who get into sites for illegal purposes.
