I cannot connect my new computer to my printer because it doesn't have an LPT printer port thing in it and my printer doesn't have anything where you can use a USB cable..is there soem kind of transformer or something that can tranfser a printer cable to USB???

you may go to the electronic store, they will have a lpt to usb adapter

There are adapters that allow you to go from an LPT port on a computer to a USB on a printer. Check on-line or your local computer store. If you have a router at home for sharing your internet connection among multiple computers, you could set the printer up as a network printer than you wouldn't have to plug it directly into the old laptop at all.

believe it or not it is cheaper to get a new printer than it is to buy an LPT to USB converter.. look into it before making your final decision.

Yeah, most computer shops can sell you a USB to parallel convertor. Might be able to snag one at Best Buy or Circuit City as well.

If you have a LAN this would be and excellent time to connect to your LAN with a Print Server.
