I love Celine Dion...but i am NOT pleased to see that a lot of people view her songs as "OVERRATED" or whatever....WHY?

Okay, I LOVE Celine, fan for ten years, she's my hero/role model, etc... that said...
Celine is a dork (and I love her for this b/c I'm a dork too!) but I think her dorkyness is misunderstood by a lot of people.
Celine tends to use a lot of hand and body gestures to express herself when talking and singing, and this can come off as fake to a lot of people. I think she does it to help express herself 'cause English is her second language.
She also is very dramatic with how she speaks and how she sings, again - I believe it's because she's trying to express herself, get herself understood. She's a very passionate person, and her language is at times corny, and a little too rehearsed in some situations (such as the one piece of dialogue she has incorporated into EVERY Vegas concert... "I want to dedicate this next song to all the parents and children in the world... especially my very own... **whispered** Rene Charles", **cue start of If I Could**).
Some just don't like her style of singing, and the genre of songs she sings. Hey, if it's not their cup of tea, I can't blame them. I sure as heck don't like all types of music and all singers!
From all I've heard from people who have been fortunate enough to meet her, and from the many hours of TV programs I've watched her on, she's a very nice, sweet person, and if some people dispise her for this, that's their problem.

She's a Las Vegas act now. Maybe that is a factor.
She has a great voice
Biggest one would be " My heart will go on" from James Cameron's Titanic.
Her song was on the top 40 for weeks. and people are sick of anything Titanic.

A lot of people are probably a bit dismayed regarding comments she made about hurricane Katrina and Iraq.
Some people feel she's yet another rich, protected celiberty who thinks she knows everything.

Personally, I don;t think she is that good of a singer and there is something about her that just gives me the creeps.
