The american used a double barrel machine gun. the Japaneese died first, but then the american died before he could send a message to U.S. Do not know any actors names. What is the title ofthis flick???

Yes! That was one of the best made-for TV movies ever! It was called "The Challenge" and starred Darren Mcgavin of "Kolchak-The Night Stalker" fame. It wasn't WWII, but was set in the near future where wars were no longer settled by big,messy wars but rather a "duel" between two men. Glad you reminded me of it!

You want "hell in the pacific" with Lee Van Marvin and Mifune Toshiro.
The Challenge, is also a good film but starred Scott Glenn...
Why people make up stuff is beyond me.
